Join us for the Voices & Votes speaker series

The Haliburton Highlands Healthy Democracy Project invites you to a home-grown speaker series featuring local voices as we explore the challenges many Ontario communities face around participation in local democracy. Attend one session or the whole series—each is free, non-partisan, and open to all.

While no registration is required for any of the sessions, we do appreciate registrations in advance so we can plan for adequate numbers of seats & snacks.

Boosting Citizen Power in the Haliburton Highlands Winter Democracy Pop-Up

Join the HHHDP, in cooperation with the Telling Our Stories Speaker Series, and supported by Places for People, for this special presentation. Our guest is Dave Meslin, author of Teardown: Rebuilding Democracy from the Ground Up, who has spent the last 25 years researching and experimenting with ways to boost civic participation, especially at the local municipal level.
